Ruth has been performing for most of her life and is based in Melbourne Australia. She studied Drama, Dance and English through the Rusden State College, studied with Mike Alfreds in the UK and more recently spent a summer with the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York.
Her vocal training includes Susan-Ann Walker, Will Conyers and Dr Graham Clarke. She continues her work with Graham as a performing partner as well as a teacher. Ruth has been performing with Acoustic Voice since its inception in 2012. Her performances include the roles of Anita in West Side Story, Morales in a Chorus Line, Jenny Driver in Threepenny Opera, Mavis in Stepping Out, Renee in Searching for Comets, Duke Senior in As You Like It, Sam in Another Time for Angels, Lanni in the Tango Femme and performed for four seasons in Wishing Well Productions Her Aching Heart. As an avid theatre writer and performer Ruth has developed two highly acclaimed shows including Whats Love Got To Do With It and Goddess Grooves.
Whats Love Got To Do With It, has toured to the Edinburgh, Perth and Adelaide Festivals. She has also performed the show as part of the Midsumma festival in Melbourne over several seasons. Goddess Grooves has been a part of the Midsumma and Darebin Music Festivals and Ruth is currently performing her latest work In Cabaret at the Paris Cat in Melbourne.
