Versatile Australian-born soprano Rosalynd Smith gained her B.Mus. at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, and continued her study of voice and musicology in Canada, Hungary and Australia.

She has performed in opera and operetta with the Victorian Opera Company, Opera Melbourne, Melbourne City Opera and Gilbert and Sullivan Opera Victoria: as well as in cabaret and music theatre with La Mama, Encore Musical theatre and Kommisar Kabaret. Rosalynd has a particular affinity for the art song, and has a wide repertoire of songs in English, Italian, French, German, Spanish and Hungarian. She has given recitals in Australia, USA, Canada, Spain, Hong Kong and Hungary. Her oratorio and concert performances have been with the Vancouver Bach Choir, Melbourne Chorale, Monash University Choral Society, Melbourne University Choral Society, Southeastern Philharmonia and Astra Music Society, among others.

Rosalynd studied historical dance with Shirley Wynn and Julia Sutton in the USA, and has performed or directed performances of early music and dance with Australian and American groups, including Ars Nova Melbourne and the Wednesday Consort. Rosalynd has held positions as soprano soloist in a number of churches in Australia and Canada. She has recorded for the Canadian Music Archive.
